Athiri wine is one of the most popular varieties of wine in Greece. It’s said that Athiri wine has been made since antiquity, before the birth of Christ. Traditionally, this wine was used for religious purposes because it was believed that it came from grapes that had been offered to Dionysus. The legend, while not completely true, is a good representation of how important this type of wine was to ancient Greeks.
